1. Will you expedite the completion and adoption of a Master Plan for the city with the force of law?
Yes. A comprehensive master plan with the operation of law is necessary to provide certainty for our neighborhoods and foster responsible development. Certain and consistent rules necessarily reduces the City Council's involvement in zoning matters. This reduces the perception of corruption, protects neighborhoods, and levels the playing field for all businesses.
2. What is the Council's role in bringing back New Orleans?
To provide responsive leadership to the neighborhoods of New Orleans to assist in making their vision a reality. This requires attracting businesses, spurring the development of a strong housing stock, and conserving our City's limited resources to focus these resources on fundamental needs such as education, safety, and infrastructure.
3. Will you pledge to end the practice of deferring to the District Council Member on land use matters?
Yes. Meaningful debate on land use issues is necessary.
4. What are the unique priorities for your district?
Increase our housing stock by reducing blight and developing vacant lands and focus on commercial corridors such as Oretha Castle Haley and Claiborne Avenue.
